A Little About Me

The passion I have for horses runs deep in my blood.  My mother used to joke that I was riding even before I was born as she continued to ride throughout her pregnancy with me.

I was raised on a working livestock farm with four other siblings but none of them took to horses like I did.

I was 10 when I trained my first pony: a young welsh named Peanuts. He taught me early on about how to communicate with horses, and that combined with working alongside my parents breaking Suffield Mustangs, Thoroughbreds, Arabians and Quarter Horses gave me the insight on different breeds of horses and what they were capable of.

Years later I began reading and following great trainers like Ray Hunt, Tom Dorrance and Clinton Anderson, and applying their methods combined with my own to create my unique training program.

I started training horses for clients when people started taking notice of the quiet well rounded horses I was riding. I was told "I had a way with horses" by many people as I started taking horses other trainers were turning away. Horses deemed dangerous or unrideable. I started building my clientele with problem horses; then colt starting; and now I'm producing well rounded versatile horses.

I'm currently learning about training cow horses and ranch versatility horses as well as some showing. While this world is brand new to me, starting well rounded horses is not, and I am confident I can take you and your horse to the next level.

Currently I am training out of my own outdoor facility  just outside of Okotoks, AB.
